Night Two – Jingle Jam Summary

Across the board, throughout nearly every bracket there were tightly contested games on semi final night in the 2017 St. Louis Jingle Jam.

4th BOYS RED

The top seed Eureka Wildcats will face a gritty Ft. Zumwalt South team in the title game. Zumwalt South earned a 3 point victory over the #2 seed, Liberty Eagles (Bombers), at Zion Lutheran on Wednesday night.  Clayton will face Ladue (Margraf) in the Consolation final at Principia.

4th BOYS WHITE

Clayton controls their own destiny tonight in the 4th Boys White bracket as they will face Liberty at Orchard Farm Middle School for the title.  Should Liberty upset Clayton, and Wentzville Holt defeat Northwest, there would be three teams with a 2-1 record.  The tie breaker if three teams are at 2-1 would revert to Point Differential with a 15 point max per game.

Through two games, Wentzville Holt has a +4 differential, Liberty is at -6 and Clayton is +14.

5th BOYS RED

The top two seeds will square off in the 5th Boys Red bracket as Parkway West and St. Dominic advanced on Wednesday night. Parkway West needed a last second basket to survive a challenge from Liberty at MICDS. Liberty will face Rockwood Summit in the third place game with the two Ft. Zumwalt West teams meeting to decide the consolation title.

5th BOYS White

Upsets were the story from the beginning in the 5th Boys White bracket as the #8 seed, Francis Howell North nearly made it all the way to the title game. Liberty White edged out Francis Howell North, 26-25 on Wednesday at MICDS and will face Northwest (6 seed) on Thursday night at Hardin Middle School.  Northwest defeated Parkway South 11-10, creating a Parkway South v Francis Howell North match up in the 3rd place game.

6th Boys RED

The top two seeds are set to face tonight at MICDS as Kirkwood handled Marquette in their semi final game on Wednesday.  Ladue was tested by Liberty, but emerged victorious with a 4 point win and the opportunity to face the top seeded Kirkwood Pioneers.

6th Boys WHITE

It will be a 1 seed vs 3 seed in the championship game of the 6th White bracket as Seckman knocked off Liberty in convincing fashion, 42-27 at St. Charles High School. Seckman’s ability to hit the outside shot, combined with their full court pressure will give Parkway West all they want in tonight’s title game. John Burroughs will face Liberty in the 3rd place game while Lutheran St. Charles and Wentzville Holt will meet for the Consolation title.

6th Boys BLUE

Parkway West (Clardy) and Marquette will meet for the title of the 6th Boys Blue division. Marquette earned their spot in the championship game by virtue of a 31-28 win over Fox. Parkway West knocked off the top seed, Francis Howell 41-18 in their semi final match up.

Clayton and Francis Howell (Black) will meet for the title of the Consolation bracket.

7th Boys RED

It’s a game that’s been played multiple times over the past several years as Kirkwood will face Marquette on Thursday night for the championship of the 7th Boys Red bracket.  These two groups have gone at it several times in CNR league and tournament action and tonight’s game should be another tightly contested game.  Kirkwood barely got past Parkway West (Kuehl) on Wednesday, while Marquette put up 50 points in a 50-38 victory over a good Ft. Zumwalt West team.

Liberty Red will face Eureka in the Consolation championship being played at Kirkwood High School.

7th Boys WHITE

Christian High School knocked off Columbia to earn a spot in the title game against the #2 seed, Marquette Mustangs. Northwest will play Columbia in the 3rd place game.  All games in the 7th Boys White bracket will be at Oakville High School on Thursday night.

7th Boys BLUE

It took overtime to decide one of the semi final games in the 7th Boys Blue division as Parkway West (Roy) defeated Liberty to earn a spot in tonight’s title game against Fox. Fox beat Francis Howell (Gold) 50-25 in the other semi final match up.

8th Boys RED

Eureka accomplished what very few have been able to do over the past several years, knocking off Ft. Zumwalt South to earn their spot in tonight’s title game against Westminster.  Ft. Zumwalt South will look to bounce back against Christian Middle in the third place game.  All games will take place at Marquette High School with the title game tipping at 9pm.

8th Boys WHITE

In the small gym at Marquette will be St. Dominic and Parkway South playing for the title of the 8th Boys White bracket. Dominic defeated Parkway Central Red 54-26.  Parkway South had a tighter contest wining 39-35 over Parkway Central White.

8th Boys BLUE

Ft. Zumwalt West took care of Parkway South on Wednesday and will now face the #7 seed, Fox, in tonight’s title game at Oakville High School.  Fox defeated Francis Howell (White) 59-43.  Steelville will play Westminster (Blue) in tonight’s Consolation final at Notre Dame High School.

4th Girls RED

Liberty and Eureka are both 2-0 heading into tonight’s match up at Orchard Farm Middle School.  The winner of tonight’s game will win the 4th Girls Red bracket.

5th Girls RED

Timberland has stormed through the 5th Girls Red bracket so far winning 31-10 over Northwest and 40-0 over Marquette Blue. Timberland will play St. Dominic (1-1) tonight.

6th Girls RED

Ft. Zumwalt South will face the STL Rockstars in the championship game of the 6th Girls Red bracket.  Union and Marquette will meet for the 3rd place game with Seckman and Northwest squaring off in the 5th place contest.

6th Girls WHITE

Ft. Zumwalt East stayed hot on Wednesday night knocking off the #3 seed Ft. Zumwalt West.  Should Ft. Zumwalt East knock off the top seed Rockwood Summit, it would mean they beat the #2, #3 and then #1 seed in three consecutive nights.

7th Girls RED

The top two seeds will meet for the title of the 7th Girls Red bracket as Eureka survived a scare from Liberty in a 29-27 victory to advance and now play Rockwood Summit. Summit defeated Parkway South 29-24 in the other semi final matchup.

7th Girls WHITE

Kirkwood is in the drivers seat entering the final night of play in the 7th Girls WHITE bracket having defeated Oakville and Marquette Blue so far. Kirkwood will play Parkway Central with Marquette Blue and Oakville meeting in the other game.

8th Girls RED

It will be a 5 seed vs. 3 seed in the title of the 8th Girls Red Bracket being played at Lindbergh tonight.  St. Dominic will face Bethalto for the title with Marquette and Lindbergh Gold playing in the 3rd place game.  Northwest and Parkway South will meet for the Consolation title.
